European Tour this summer: What cameras?

Im going backpacking in Europe this summer (I live in sweden), Im bringing my Olympus OM-1 with Olympus zuiko 50 F/1.8 and Soligor 28 f/2.8, with that my Panasonic GF3 14mm f/2.5 Pancakewith and a OM adapter. The adapter really get all the ranges covered since the crop factor in the panasonic is x2. As my second film camera (cause you've got to bring two!) Konica Big mini HG 35mm f/3.5 witch will be loaded with Ektar 100 through out the trip. Almost forgot my trusty Vivitar Auto Thyristor 2800 flash.

The importance for me is to get all the focal length covered as well as traveling somewhat light, got to bring lots of film though. Thinking about 20-30 rolls, dunno if i'll shoot that much but don't want to run out.

I'm back from my European Vacation! It was a great 11-day tour and we explored three old classic cities: London, Paris and Barcelona. I shot 12 rolls of film and everything went technically pretty well. I used the M4-P with MR4 meter. I shot Kodak BW400 CN, Kodak Ektar 100, and Lomo 800. I used two lenses- a Zeiss 50mm Planar and a Canon 35mm F2.8. I learned a lot about what works and what doesn't on a trip like this... more on that later. I was limited somewhat by the nature of my tour; I was a chaperone with a group of Junior High and High School students and we had a fairly regimented tour schedule with only some "free" time. We were always on the go! These conditions made it tough to concentrate on photography...I had to be quick and ready to shoot! That said, I was able to grab some interesting shots. I will share some London shots to start out and go from there. I'm limited to 5 shots at a time:rolleyes:

More to come!:)

Welcome back. Now show us some photos. This is mandatory, as you know. It is interesting that you went with a 35 and a 50 lens. I did the same, but I also had a 25/4 which I used on one day.

I'm not set up with another image-hosting service, so I'm limited to 5 a day on rangefinder forum. I will investigate more tomorrow morning!

Nice photos! On a recent trip to Portugal and Spain, I shot mostly with an M4-2 and 50 (for black and white), an Oly XA (for color), and I also used a small m4/3 camera with an equivalent of 28 for indoors and evenings. The set-up worked well. Although one frequently hears that wide angle lenses are needed b/c of narrow streets, I think you can shoot effectively w/ a 50 or a 35, as your shots show. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks- I'm assuming you mean the old style double decker bus in London? It was the only old style bus I saw in the city- the newer style was everywhere! I spotted it on a quiet side street near Trafalgar Square- not sure which one.
