Ever had a scoop?

About 20 years ago I was with a friend who was towing a car down one of the local mountains...we had to stop to allow the brakes to cool down...while sitting on the side of the mountain road I heard some rustling in the bushes across the road...upon investigating the noise I found two Rattlesnakes mating...both were at least 5' to 6' long...I caught a shot of the two as there were upright and side by side...
A passer-by stopped to ask what was going on...later she asked if I would send her a shot...I did and she submitted it to the local paper...she sent me a copy of the article with the photo...
Not really a scoop but it was a cool shot and actually looked better in B&W...

Well, having started the thread by saying I had never caught anything newsworthy, RFF member Bob France and I were off to drool over the new M9 when we came across an overturned tanker at the motorway junction. Not a mega event and not even a great shot (had to take it through the car window) but I suppose, had I the time, this would have finally been my chance for a newsworthy shot.
