Ever just throw stuff away?

Well there's the replaceable film counter/winder knob (the 'sold seperately' piece, that I got conned out of I think) missing, so you need a Rollei that already has it, or else, my cord III is the wrong type for the version I bought.

I think it only works with flexs

I'll post an ad in the trade section in a moment
Oh, I think I understand your frustration. I don't think the counter knob was sold separately, but there are a lot of Rolleikins on the market where the counter knob was left on the camera. That's how they get separated. Rolleikin isn't much good without a counter if you ask me... unless you have a spare counter!

I know there were two different Rollekins -- one that came with a camera back, and the Rollekin II that didn't. Rolleikin will fit R'flexs and R'Cord V. I'm not sure about the earlier R'Cords.

It doesn't fit the 'cord III.

Either way I have a useless rolleikin unless i buy a rolleiflex that has that film counter installed... or someone has that kinda rolleiflex and wants the rolleikin for it.

I felt totally cheated, but by the time I realised, it was too late.

Anyone got a Rolleiflex with the film counter?

Okay, well... sorry. I haven't bought a Rolleikin yet because I figure that will likely happen to me too. It seems like every one I see at the auction site looks like a part is missing. Mostly it's the counter!

For the older Rolleicords I thought this [http://cgi.ebay.com/ Item number: 280013302871] is the Rolleikin to use. I think (but definitely not sure) that the counter is in the back. This is the unit in the 1930 "Rollei Practical Accessories" booklet. The III is a bit later than that, though, isn't it? Whatever you end up with, good luck with your photography. 🙂

p.s. The auction item is mentioned just for description, not as a suggestion to buy -- the back is described as bent and cracked.)

I've noted various backs for sale, but the piece to hold the 35mm can in place is too short to fit properly in the base of a 'cord, so I'm giving up.

I decided it's not worth wasting a Rollei medium format on 35mm anyways!

2 original copies of the Canon VT manual are still available for the cost of postage.

Assume ok to the UK? If so, I'll stake a claim. Will P.M.

Many thanks

(I'll forward one onto Kim, if it's any use to him .....)

The Canon VT manuals have been claimed. Anyone want the old flash unit? I have used another copy of this flash unit attached to a camera- looked kinda cool perched on a bookshelf.

Thanks to the folks that have adopted this old stuff- I have too much camera clutter, but hate to throw the stuff out if it is usable.

Kievs. Lots and lots of Kievs. A Fed, too. I've an enlarger given to me by a friend that thought I'd like it- he found it on a treelawn. B&W only, no film holders, there IS a lens, but just about worthless to me, considering that I can buy an entire darkroom for a couple hundred dollars...
It's goin'.
Um... I've thrown away a VW engine before. Ran, too, though not well.
Threw away an RS/6000 or two (520's/530's). It was funny. I threw away a ton (quite literally) of computer crap out. Valuable/sellable stuff there was, but nobody took it. They took the broken fixed disks, they took the broken cables, broken printers (the late-90's CHEAP ones with the expensive cartridges) but not the RS/6000's (with ram!) or the PS/2's (with CPU boards!)

Ah well.

🙂

Obviously I did not know about your gear. I'd have been ecstatic to give an RS/6000 (especially one with a decent amount of RAM!) a good home. For future reference, are you aware of the Sun Rescue list? Originally it was Sun only but over the past few years it's become "if it can run _any_ variation of Unix & we can keep it out of the trash bin we're happy"... 🙂

I threw a Zenit-E slr in the bin a long time ago. It wasn't broken, worked fine, but when I picked up a Nikon F601, I knew I'd never ever use the Zenit again..

If I manage to find the time, 🙁 , I will put a copy on the website for all. Thanks.
