everyday camera

My MP and 50 summicron live in my courierware bag. The lens has a 50/2.8 elmar rigid hood attached with no cap so that it'll be ready wherever and whenever.

My Leica.III fits into a pocket in my laptop case perfectly. But so would any one of my Zorki.1s. I choose to carry the Leica because. . . I like it. Anybody want to analyze that? 🙄

...mostly my mamiya6 w/75mm. somedays i add an oly xa, and recently acquired pentax mv-1 w/50mm.

hasta la vista, adieu, dazvidanya, fino al prossimo tempo, auf wiedersehen, and later y’all

I used to carry my Minolta TC-1 snob P&S everywhere because it came with a nice and practical belt pouch. Then I quit doing that for no apparent reason. I took up the carry-everywhere principle again when I got my Zorki. I'll restart it when my iiic+Summitar arrives. It'll be with me all through the summer because I've got lots of interesting plans 🙂

I have been carrying an Oly Epic Stylus (non-zoom) in a belt pouch. Recently switched that for a <gasp> Casio ExiLim Z120 <choke>. (But it's in the same belt pouch.)

In my own defense, I feel a need to loosen up in my shooting & "cost-free" digital seems to be the best way for me to do it.

I always have a small photo bag, with whatever camera I feel like. Usually a bessa R with J-8 and a holga. If I dont take a photo bag (or man-purse 🙂 ) I will take a fed-2 or Minox 35gt.

I try to always have a camera with me, because not having one is just too frustrating.

My choice is my Leica II because like Reagan "I like it". Its small, light weight and a joy to use. Every day as I carry it with me and use it I am reminded of all the great work that has been done with these cameras.

Been coming back to this tread time and time again. I don't have an everyday camera, but I want one!

Most members seems to have a laptop bag or some large bag for a heavy camera.

Does anyone carry a heavy camera on their belt pack?

No way ! I've been off sports for so long that I won't ruin my bad health by lugging heavy items around ! My TC-1 came with its own tiny belt pack which I find it just acceptable. As for my Zorki, it can fit into a coat pocket or any tiny corner of a bag. I'm wondering how I will feel having it on its wrist strap for 2 weeks on end in Italy this summer, though. Adding the light meter, it might be a hassle. Maybe I'll be forced into getting a man's purse, help ! (abandons all hope, jumps off the ship etc.)

Never noticed the similarity before, but yeah. That's probably why they're so comfortable--they're anatomically correct.
Sorry Dennis, couldn't resist. My brother carries one of those when traveling. I move my shoulder bag/backpack from shoulder to shoulder while he seems to be comfortable at all times. 🙁

Fed 4 with a collapsible Industar fits into my pocket quite nicely, but for those times when something relly small or automatic is required, a Pentax 110 SLR

"Everyday camera" depends on the day. At one time, I didn't leave the house without my full Hexar kit – both bodies, all three lenses, etc. That went on for several months. Now, for the easier-to-carry day-to-day, it'll be either the Konica S3, Ricoh GR1 and/or Konica Lexio 70 I can see taking any two of those at one time, which is easy. Easiest setup to carry is the Ricoh in an Op/Tech belt pouch that seems all but custom-made for it (even the color matches, for all that's worth), with room for a spare roll of film tucked either on top or at bottom.

I guess I'm saying that I no longer have any "special" cameras. They're all special to me.
