You forgot the part about wearing a huge gold watch and not knowing anything about the proper way to hold a camera.
Proper way to you perhaps 🙂

That's a very personal question.
RFF feels like a very intimate forum as far as filter rings go...
Its an old guy dressed like he's working in the garden. Doesn't bring to mind adventurousness, creativity, youth or exclusivity, but maybe I am missing the big picture here.
Somebody post the guideline on how to properly hold a Leica please. Do I use my left/right eye to look through the viewfinder?
When did film become a bandwagon?

Of course, you expected something different?
So what?
I think the point is that they are actually using film cameras as part of this ad series. It probably means nothing, but those ads are seen by countless people and they are seeing film cameras.
Additionally they are equating those film cameras with terms such as "Explorer" and "Adventurer." Their initial point is that these type of people stay at their hotels. But the other underlying message is that these types of people also use these types of cameras.
Some underlying advertising messages are intended (book hotel rooms), some may only be accidental (these type of people do not use their i-Phone or a digital camera.) But they are still relaying a message to those who see the ad.
If I am not mistaken, that is the reason for advertising. Relay a message that sells something. Maybe they will sell a few film cameras along with booking some hotel rooms.
Yes a rich inky black .... like no other, a leica glow 😀
Left eye. Always the left eye.
Unless you're right eyed. Then, always the right eye.
Upside to film Leicas for lefties: no screen to smudge nose grease all over.
If you are left eye dominant you should use an Ensign Auto-Range model, with viewfinder correctly located and film advance with the left hand.
OTOH you can use portrait orientation with Leica with either eye quite well. Choose the right camera for the task.
My favorite.
Just read the text, too.
