I have an Olympus VF-2 for my m240. Never had an issue. Today I put it on and the view through the EVF is max bright white. Just like staring at an LED panel. There is no image or shadow or anything. Just white. Using Live View and the back LCD of the camera, that is fine.
Idd id get a splash of sea water earlier today. It was fairly small (about 1 or 2 fluid ounces) and I cleaned it right off. And it only hit the front of the camera as far as I could tell.
I was not using the EVF at the time.
Thoughts?

In my testing of possible glitches, I removed and reinstalled the battery. Dd this a few times. Did not fix the issue. This morning, I tried again and no fix. I decided to switch batteries. Voila! No problem. Put the original battery back in and all worked fine. I don't understand, but whatever...

That's an odd problem, but at least it's back to normal. I've had similar odd problems surface just once on various cameras over the years; I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts to recur repeatedly. I consider them all to be some odd state that the electronics managed to get into, transitory and driven by something that just happened to coincide incorrectly.
