I'm off to London for business June 24-29. What are the must see photography exhibits.
Can anyone point me to an online guide to exhibits/galleries?
Also, anyone want to offer a tour of St. Albans/Harpenden on Friday 6/27?

Museum of London has a small exhibit of the street photography of Bob Collins between the 50s and 80s. And something about the work of Christina Broom, who was a photographer around a hundred years ago. The archive they have is enormous, so they are planning to get to a full exhibition in 2015 or 16, but there is a display in the foyer.

Photographers Gallery is usually well worth a visit.

I think the David Bailey exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery is finished.

Oh, and, the Greenwich Gallery has some really good photography sometimes. Worth finding out in advance, as it's a bit out of the centre of London.

There's a Chris Killip display at Tate Britain:

And Tate Modern has a small Henry Wessel display (as well as loads of other fascinating modern art, if that's your bag).

Four Corners Gallery has a great new exhibition starting on the 26th, and you can visit the wonderful Labyrinth photo lab downstairs!

Not sure exactly what's on at Atlas Gallery at the moment but it's always a good place to visit: http://www.atlasgallery.com/atlas.php

White Cube in Bermondsy [Very Near London and Tower Bridge]
has a new exhibition by Andreas Gursky.
I'm not a big fan of his new work, but it is worth going to, even
for just the "gold" picture.
Also the gallery space is quite nice.
Go on Saturday and visit Maltby market [not Borough Market]

One of the places I work is in Hoxton Square and there is a nice, friendly gallery there that always has interesting exhibitions. This is the current one - http://www.danielblau.com/exhibitions/2014/bailey-2/
As a teenager we lived in St. Albans and Harpenden, I liked them both but haven't been there for many years. Not much to see in Harpenden, small commuter town but very pleasant. St. Albans has a long history, supposedly the oldest pub in the country; old cobbled High Street and clock tower, don't know how much of that has changed; Cathedral and the Roman ruins of Verulam.
I'm not likely to be available on that Friday, it would be quite nice to revisit those parts, but feel to contact me when you are in London though I am away for the first part of the week.

Whatever else you do, go to Tate Modern - even if there is nothing photographic on. It is one of the best things in London, and only 200 yards from the Globe theatre, which has to be worth a few frames.

The Calvert 22 Gallery has an interesting-looking exhibition of early 20th century Russian colour photographs which opened yesterday. It was previewed in last Sunday's Sunday Times (the real one, not the NYT!), and seems worth a visit.
The gallery is small, and on the fringe of the City of London.

Just seen in yesterday's Guardian Guide, there's an exhibition of Dennis Hopper's 'lost' photos opening at the Royal Academy of Arts on 26 June. That would be worth a look.

I'd strongly agree with this! Also the Tate has some very good photography in their permanent work - if I recall correctly, Level 4 has very good large C-prints by Luc Delahaye and Mitch Epstein amongst others.

Thanks all! I went to the opening at Four Corners, the show at The Photographers Gallery (best collection of photo magazines for sale), and say the Eve Arnold show at PhotoFusion. Now wish I made it to Gallery 22 but there is always a next time.
