Dumping them down the drain at home is out of the question as it will only go to the leach field. We have an office space in town on the towns water treatment system though it dispenses right into the bay and I'm leery about it's efficacy at removing the "hazardous to aquatic life" components. What do you all do with your chemicals? Do waste treatment plants really filter this stuff out?
I plan on asking at the treatment plant but thought I put it out here.

My stored stash of 5 gallon containers full of used developer and fixer needs a new "home"

Find out what the requirements are in your town. Down here in MA, I can't flush anything down the drain. All photo chemicals are classified as hazardous waste and must be disposed of at designated facilities. It inconveniences me, but in principle I agree.

If you decide not to care about those regulations, well, it would be wise not to post about it on the Internet.

I send fixer to a waste processor. I mix everything else about 1+10 with rainwater then irrigate my lawn with it. Xtol seems to make grass grow faster.

Do follow your local waste management laws.
