Mine is simple, me and my camera at the Chicago Bean in a bright and snowy day some years back. I figured what better than using the front facing camera to take a selfie of me and my camera, with the image of me and my camera on the camera, with a selfie of me...........

This is photo of the fender on a Morgan Plus 4 taken at a vintage car show at Lime Rock park. I love vintage British and Italian sports cars!

My avatar is a shot of me shooting into a reflection in a car dealership showroom door. I liked the steps for a simple addition to form. I shot this in 2009. - jim

Me at the central square in Poznan. During summer holidays in 2016, there was a fair in town and i spotted this mirror once i was out and about to take some pictures.
Used my trusty Nikon F90x and it is taken on T-Max 400. HC110 was the developer.

I asked John if I could use his shot for my avatar and if could he set it up for me. The comment "Gear Whore #1" John added.
Initially I took offence, but after thinking about it the title was kind of appropriate. LOL. Understand I kinda promote myself as a lazy slacker, but I never really identified as a gear whore before.
Ah Cal, I didn't know... I can remove that piece!
As for my avatar... the best digital camera ever!

John,
I'm only being honest about my initial response, but it kinda speaks the truth. I'm no longer in denial, and the fact is that I am a gear whore. Now I wear that title as a badge of honor.
Interesting to note that having known poverty that there is a great propensity to hoard things excessively. This is a mark of poverty that still remains. This also explains my infinity for expensive luxury items that is so ghetto.
Interesting to note the cultural aspect of being Chinese. Famine and hunger is strongly remembered cuturally, and instead of asking, "How are you doing?" as a greeting the Chinese way is, "When is the last time you ate?" Food has an enhanced cultural meaning.
Anyways I wear my marks/scars of poverty now as a badge of honor.
We are cool.

I was visiting Oxford in '08 and came out of a Martini bar (what else to do on a rainy evening in Oxford?) when I came upon this guy juggling in a doorway. Taken with my M8 and likely 28mm Elmarit asph.

Ok, cool... it was never meant as a bad thing!

I came up with mine when I finally dug my Grandmother's M3 out of the closet and realized I'd never become proficient using it if I didn't get off AUTO.
Still not going to happen, but at least I'm using the lenses that came with all the film cameras I've inherited along the way. Thank you Sony.
Cal - I'd love to see a big picture of your avatar just to see what cameras are hung on you.

My Avatar was a accidental shot, but I like the shadow and the second shadow from a reflection off a glass building front.

I guess I was thinking of my avatar from another forum as I don't have one here. Opps.

Fair enough.
I was just wondering as I'm a full fledged gear junkie myself.
