I use ordinary masking tape. Just make sure that you use a piece that is long enough to extend at least an inch onto the film, front and back.

If your in the UK its a bargain but the shipping kills it.
You know what I found out a few days ago in the darkroom during a film rolling session? Masking tape sparks when you take it off the roll! Who would have known?!
