I'm not sure what forum to put this in but. I have a chance to trade some gear that lies unused for a Leica CM in original packaging and less than two years old. No issues. But I shoot mainly Tri X and HP5+ at 1250 and 800 respectively. The CM is DX only. How unhandy would it be to use the exposure compensation feature (I think -2 to +2) to get to the proper rating? Exposure compensation has always been confusing to me since I never have used it to a great extent. Maybe you can help.

Gotcha! I thought that. I guess I need to read up to see if the CM resets to DX every time you turn it off or if the settings are "permanent". I'd probably shoot a lot at 400 wiith my memory. Photo Shop makes that less of a problem. Thanks for your response.

The exposure compensation works fine. I just have to untie my brain after thinking "less is more". BTW, for future reference the CM can be made to default to "permanent" no flash and "permanent" chosen exposure compensation.
