Extreme post processing

Definitely one of the more enjoyable threads I've seen on RFF. (Ok, I've seen about .0001% of those threads.) Maybe the high quality here is due to the posters reaching back into their archives and sharing the best of their best. I get a sense of folks coming out of their post-processing closets---saying, "Yah, sometimes I do that. " Risky business.😱

Anyway, I did a search here on Nik----Google's filter set http://www.google.com/nikcollection/
and didn't come up with anything. Has anyone paid attention to Nik? I downloaded their 15 day trial and played with it some. Lots o' fun, but so far my images don't translate so well into prints. What's you experience printing your extreme processed pics? Any special issues?

I don't mind a bit of 'post' and some of the examples in this thread really benefit from it. After all, sticking in a roll of Velvia is just 'pre-processing'.

Bloody hell how I now don't like HDR and extreme digital PP, ...yep done precisely that (meaning I've done some silly mistakes in the past) 😀
