Recovering rollei snob
have had this bay 1 rollei hood for a while that takes quite a bit of torque to twist on. very tight on and off. anyone know a way to fix this or is it scrap metal 🙁

I can still get mine on but it seems to be getting more difficult. I thought it was just me maybe something is going on in there.

nope have a few the rest are like butter with the same camera.

Could be a bent flange on the hood, or it is out of round from being dropped. Look it over closely and see if it deviates from the way your other hoods look. Should be repairable.

What's the camera and what's the brand of the hood?
There is slight variation in bayonet sizing and in hood sizing. Even from the same company. I have Rollei branded Bay I hoods that are not the same size, based on the feel when putting them on. Variance in tooling from one batch to another, different suppliers, etc.

Mine is a bit tight on my Vb but as I push in to mount or remove it eases the spring tension a bit.
