A mint-conditioned Version 1 of the 35mm f/1.2 just arrived.. I am not sure if it was really even used...

However, the diaphragm makes a slight rattling sound when I rotate the f/stop ring on the lens. Is it normal?

Never owned a Voigtlander hence the question. My AF Fujinon X 35mm f/1.4 rattles but it's a well-known 'norml'.

Please advise,

Cheers,

Do you mean that it clicks as you turn it? That's normal; it's so your aperture doesn't accidentally change from where you set it. The term for it is "click-stopped." If it sounds like something is loose in there, though—like, it rattles when you shake it—that might be a problem.

That's a terrific lens, enjoy!

It sounds like a rattle from the diaphragms, internally, NOT the clicking stops on the f/stop ring...

I am sure I can tell the difference.
