F3hp help!

Wooo hooo! I checked the online manual and it turns out I had the batteries in the wrong way. Also one of the brand new batteries i bought didnt work! Now I am ready to burn some film after so many years!

Glad it's up and running ! thought about asking about this but seeings how you were familiar with the camera ;)

now which film are you going to load up ?

Hmm i think i will try some Provia F. I am in New England at fall.

I must have switched the batteries the wrong way the first time I saw it wasn't working and ever since I have been trying the wrong way. Thanks a lot folks for the support!

odd, my F3p meters even before hitting 1.

Interesting. Mine fires at 1/80 and doesn't meter until frame one is reached. I just checked the manual and that is the normal behavior until frame one is reached. Perhaps the operation changed over the years.

My F3 also locks at 1/80 until getting going on the spool.

Have you advanced the camera to frame one? The meter doesn't work until the counter reaches frame 1
Hmm, I'm pretty sure the F3hp I had would meter immediately on closing the back, before winding to frame 1 - maybe they changed the operation over the years?

(Every time I hear people talk about the F3hp I want one again :-( )

I picked a F3HP recently, great machine, and had the same problem. After some hunting around, I found a reference on the mir site suggesting the shutter dial needed to be on B or 250 in order for the meter circut to activate once the batteries were changed.

A little late but perhaps useful
