Canada fall get together...or joe goes to toronto!

If a place hasn't been established, I would recommend the Wheat Sheaf at King & Bathurst. Lotsa big tables, lotsa people, lotsa anonymity. I like Caplansky's but it's small and well lit & (a) mightn't find a table big enuff;(b)everybody in the joint will be watching.

As long as Jack and Ethan ate okay with it, I like the idea of toront's oldest pub, Wheat Sheaf.

Jan, are you around on Thursday for dinner? Have you got a suggestion?

Caplansky's is very bright, but I wasn't planning to do anything I didn't want people to see. (I guess I'm the dull one at the party.) More interesting neighbourhood, and much closer to where Joe is staying. My bias: I live in the neighbourhood. I haven't had to park there, therefore. There is a parking garage off of Brunswick, behind the medical building just east of it. Because it's not a bar, I don't know if they hound people who hang around too long, but I suspect not. And if they did, we could always wander down the street to Free Times. In terms of roominess. I don't know how many people are actually coming Thursday. If it were warmer, that would be less of a problem, because there is a patio too.

That said, whichever people decide, I'll be there.

SORRY. Missed Frank's post while I was writing mine. I can handle the Wheatsheaf, if not another burger this week.

Time will be between 5 and 6, depends on traffic.

Wheat Sheaf then?

Yikes. Don't re-open location. Wheat Sheaf.

It's Toronto 2011. Traffic will be bad. I'll be there at 6.

(And for those lost in the thread; this place and time is for the Thursday night dinner; not about Saturday.)

OK let me check on this Thursday dinner.. right now I was booked for Niagara on the Lake Thursday and don't know if I could be back in time. It's a very slim possibility.

Any of the places listed are alright really. Average food and all are "busy-busy" on Thursday nites.

Saturday... The Rex is easy it's on Queen past University. I have tai chi Saturdays so I'd be a late show probably 1.00 pm. Lots to see and do including people and photo walks.

The only caveat for both these is if you are driving a car, parking is tough and expensive. But it's pretty much that way anywhere downtown Thursday nights and weekends but especially so with TIFF running right thru this week. I'm not concerned because I will take my scooter not my car so parking is easy and free.
