Fast Close focusing 50?

Hi,

I'm wonder if there is a fast M 50mm that focus's down to .7 meters or similar? Most only going to .9 or 1 meter, like the 50mm Nokton and Canon 50/1.2.

I know the ASPH summilux does, but its a bit out of price range.

Regards,
Paul

It's not a 50 but the 40 Nokton goes down to .7.

Then there is the Nikkor 50/1.4 that looses coupling at .9 but goes much lower.

Roland.

The DR is wonderful and the close focusing mode works great, but it depends on how you define "fast".

Unfortunately F2 wouldnt be fast enough. Also i'm using an M8, so the DR is a no go for me.

If using the M8, I would think the 40 Nokton would fit the bill. With the 1.33 crop factor it should equal about a 53mm +/-. If the 50 FOV is what you want, it is quite a good lens, though, not a Leica. I love this lens on my M3 and M6.

For really close-op, try the Leitz BEOON and a Summicron 50 mm, but I wonder if the M8 fits on it, who knows?

most people wont care but I personaly think there is a huge difference between .9 and .7 meters close focusing. The Summilux pre asph looks like a good one, or if 1.4 is not up your alley, a 50 summicron or a recent 50 elmar would too.
