faster wide angle

I'm sure it has a lot to do with cost to produce which would be passed along to the consumer. But why doesn't Voigtlander make faster wide angle lenses? Like a 2.0 or 2.8 24 or 21.

Just wondering.

low demand. even leica doesn't make f2 superwides, they stop at 2.8. anyhow, cosina's making those lenses for the zi.

I've noticed, for me the largest aperture of a wide or superwide is not very useful. To really use the wide angle perspective, i try to put stg in the very close foreground, but then, i have to stop down to make the background sharp too. An f/3.5 on a 17mm lens is too fast already...
