These are all more or less readily available in my area. Which is your favorite? Not talking about ISO. I've been trying most of these out for the last year and so far it's a toss-up between Ektar and Portra, although I have gotten great results from Superia 800 too.

Pretty much my favorite choices as well.

Ektar for 35mm. Portra for 120.

i only shoot color negatives.
this year i've pretty much only used superia 800, which hasn't too much grain, is cheap and allows me to shoot in any light condition with higher speeds: 1/1000 at f16 on the brighter side, 1/60 at f0.95 on the darker side (night streetlights).

bought some new portra 400 but only shot the 1st roll last week, picking it up today, tested shooting at 1600 and 800 with no push, let's see how it goes!

i also really like fujicolor 100, it has very fine grain and well saturated, the scans i get from it are amazing and it's dirty cheap for brazilian standards (R$5 a roll, roughly $3. a superia 400 will usually go for about R$15...)

I've been using Superia Xtra400 from Costco because it's economical and pretty much all I can buy in bulk around where I am. There are some photolabs and shops that sell other film such a Ektar, but it's not convenient to get to and the cost is much more higher at $4+ per roll compared to $2.50 per roll from Costco. If I shoot in B&W, well I guess I'd have to go with $5+ per roll. 🙁

My stash of 70 rolls of Chrome (Astia and Provia) has just about come to an end too :bang:

I've been testing various films and finally settled on Kodak Gold 200. I've been pretty happy with it, but I'll be trying some Superia Xtra 400 starting on Christmas day. I think I'd like the extra stop of speed and my search of this film on flickr showed overall good results.

I prefer Kodak ProImage to their Ektar. (its cheap and I like the color much more) the local camera shop is the only place that I know of that carries the film, I make sure to buy a much as I can when I can.

I just started shooting fuji800 xtra when I need the speed over portra400; its way cheaper, and a stop faster, and for my personal work, it more than does the job for me.

Portra has been and remains my favorite color film by wide margin, esp. since Reala disappeared. The new versions of Portra 400 and 160 produce lovely, natural colors, w/ wide latitude for exposure.

Fuji Superia Xtra 400, Fuji PRO400H and the new Kodak Portra 400 all gives the color I like depending on my needs.

But if I got to pick one among them as my fav then the new Kodak Portra 400 is my choice. 😉

I develop color film with black and white chemistry.
Never managed to find a lab that wouldn´t put fingerprints and dust on color negatives.

I like the new Portra, specifically the 160 the best.. but I shoot more of the 400 because there's less light limitations. I hate Ektar.. Fuji films are ok too, but ever since trying the new portra they seem more grainy in comparison.

Portra and Ektar for sure. I find fujifilm a little hit and miss - sometimes basic superia gives me great results, sometimes they're grayish and not so nice.
