Id be happy to shoot 400h if I couldnt have Portra 400.

the 160 speed of Portra is just the bees knees at that speed. I think if I were asked to do studio work, that would be my choice.

I really hope Kodak and Fuji continue to give us color film (and b&w film) going forward. I love velvia 50 and both speeds of portra and provia isnt bad either.

I like the Fuji pro films, but I'd gladly shoot Portra and Ektar if I could get them cheaper. For consumer film, Superia 200 is the most well-behaved (not excessive contrast/saturation) I've found.

I really grew attached to Fuji Pro160 S but when I went to order again this week at B&H is said it was discontinued. Potra will be my choice once I have finished my last 10 rolls😡

David, I bought some recently from ultrafineonline. It was expired 2009, but still 100% good shape.

BTW, I vote for Kodak Portra 160 or 400. Beautiful film. Ektar is good also, but sometimes the colours are garish. Pro400H can be nice as well, but Portra is better.

This summer I tried Fuji Superia 400 and I was pleasantly surprised at the fine grain and excellent colour balance.

Ektar for me, thanks.
I have not shot the new Portra yet but will be ordering some to try and see if I like it.
The Fujui 200 speed color film I find in my local drug/chain stores is pretty good but I really like the results I'm getting with the Ektar.

I stopped shooting colour negative film earlier this year as the cost (film and processing) and quality of the results (my bad scanning!) just didn't live up to what I wanted. All of my colour is now digital. My favourite colour films that I used were Ektar 100 and Portra 400, both gave great results, with ekrat being very vivid and portra giving superb all round results. Its just a shame that getting a decent colour scan at home illudes me!

I think Superia 400 is the last of the film looking C41 films.

Portra probably uses digital technologies throughout it's formulation and production, giving it that "digital" look ...

I really liked Portra 160nc and the Fuji 160nc(?) they have worked for me, i.e. given colour I like when scanned.
