Favorite Neck Strap?

Marked Made in Germany in very tiny letters on both ends. Wish I knew who made it...more like jewelry than a strap.

i'm curious as to what length you chose...

i just ordered a gordy non adjustable in 58 inch length. i normally use a wrist strap but thought i'd try a long strap for the cold winter months...bandolero style.

I ordered 115cm long. I chose this length because the camera hangs at the right height allowing me to grab it without having to think about it, also its comfortable worn over the shoulder diagonally and it seems to be the best position to avoid the camera slapping back and forth when worn across the chest.

I didn't want the length adjustment because I wanted as little bulk as possible as more often than not my camera is carried in my home made man-bag and the strap neatly balls up into the bag; a shoulder pad or length adjustment but would mean the strap as a whole is less 'supple' and malleable.

Cheers

I buy the old cloth(?) / nylon(?) yellow and black Nikon straps for four or five dollars at flea markets and swap meets. Then I remove the adjustable metal buckle and sew the strap to the desired length, sew a strip of velcro to the bottom side (which mates with the velcro on my vests epaulettes), dye the strap black to get rid of the Nikon logos, and I'm good to go.

By the way guys I made a custom neck strap for my M6 by myself :)

It is braided 6 leather laces with tick leather connections at the end. I can post images later on :)

Wouldn't it be better to measure your diagonal girth? Wearing a strap like that is highly dependent upon both physique and clothing choices.

i did measure using a long domke utility strap from one of my bags. i wear my 5xb very low and on the hip or my backside.
the camera shoud be at about the same place on me as well.

For my heavy SLRs I use OP/TECH USA straps. They have an excellent grip. For my M4, Artisan & Artist. I carry my contaflex in its original case (removed the rear rivet to make it a half case) and its original leather strap. It looks beautiful in its brown case.

I've used the Artisan&Artist silk cord strap, which is beautifully made, handles beautifully, but it's very expensive.
For now I'm using Gordy's strap, which combines all of the above with an affordable price.
I have yet to try Domke Gripper straps, but I hear they're excellent as well.

i love the gripper straps but they are too short for me...same with the silk cord straps...too short.
gordy shipped mine today so i'll report back when it arrives.
