What are your favorite review sites for digital cameras, and why?

I'm partial to imaging-resources.com. Their evaluations seem pretty complete to me, and they are the only site I know of that evaluates print output for every camera.

I just discovered their "comparometer," which compares any two cameras' files. They compare OOC jpegs, so that may not be valuable for some. Still, it's fun to play around with.

How about your favs?

dpreview for me. Very informative, detailed and comprehensive. Answers all the questions I might ask except 'How does it feel to use?', which I can only answer by handling it myself.

But I like the videos from digitalrev, because Kai is funny.

Whatever comes up on google. I search around for concordance. Generally you can ignore the ones associated with print magazines because they don't want to offend potential advertisers.
Ken Rockwell is worth a read. I realised he's not too biased after reading the beginning of a 40D review where he looks excitedly uncritical but then begins panning little things in an amusing way that would be too embarrassing for Canon to patronise.

I read Ken Rockwell, Steve Huff, preview/lenstips for technical aspects of DSLRs and new lenses. LensRentals blog and database is also very informative, and I like Roger's writing style. Video wise of course Kai and Lok from DigitalRev is entertaining, sometimes Matt Granger that Nikon guy too.

Lately I add words like 'love' or 'fun' for the cameras I am interested in. This will usually link me to regular user's blogs or in many case, RFF/photo.net posts, telling why they love the camera, why they love it, how it was fun to use, etc. I just did that to search details about FSU rangefinders, and it served me well! I think I'll post something about my latest acquisition within the next week. 😉

I don't like to read those kind of sites but if I need to check something before deciding a purchase I usually find all the answers in dpreview or in the manual of the gear. Sometimes also user's evaluations found in Amazon or B&H are useful. As for blogs which contain also reviews of gear I like Kirk Tuck's blog, at least for his style, Sara Lando's (what happened to her blog? it seems she is not posting anything since a very long time) and the strobist. Ah, of course I read and post in this forum.
