New York February NYC Meetup

Hmmm... will all the film camera users shun me when I should up with my M8? ;) lol.

I'm an old film guy. Those digital guys are amazing. They can do things I can't do. Their work is also impressive. Perhaps one day I'll learn to scan my negatives.

The digital guys inspire me, but film remains my comfort zone.

Helen: But of course. To make up for last time, first round's on me if you can make it. :)

jsrockit: No shunning, so come along. I even got to handle someone's M9 last time!

Calzone: No scanning chops? We gotta chat...

DN: Crossing my fingers you'll make it somehow.

I will be there but I have to leave early.

For those who are interested, I have my last 5 rolls of Kodachrome 64 24exp left for sale. They are expired but can be developed. I had over 100+ rolls developed at Dwayne's photo recently from my trip. As you know, K-14 process will be discontinued by the end of the year. I simply don't have time nor a project to use the last 5 rolls. I am thinking $5 per roll or $20 for 5.

See you guys there.

Have class that Sat, so not sure if I can make it - certainly give it a shot.

Side Topic; in case anyone is interested, this weekend is Chinese New Year. Officially it's Sunday and it should be interesting to be in Chinatown, although crowded. To the best of my knowledge the following weekend on Sunday (2/21) will be the big day for parades and Lion-Dancing.

I'm going to try to make it but I won't know until the last minute whether it'll be possible. Hopefully, I'll see you all there. Last time was a blast :)

I'll try to make it there early.
Cal, you can give my M3 a CLA (bring an oil can and sand paper) :)

Don't forget to bring that Dual Range Cron. BTW Damaso will have a Nikon book door prize to add to your collection. I'll bring by my F3P to show you why we perfer rangefinders. This rare press camera is a porker that feels like a weapon. This quick in and out is a good opportunity to flash an SLR to not get beat up by the hard-core rangefinder crowd, at least before they hit critical mass. Guy thought your F5 was big. HA-HA I say.

I became less of a Nikon SLR whore and downsized dramatically. Literally emptied a Domke J-3, or about 40 pounds of gear, to raise cash and to also swing a deal.

To early birds, I will be sporting proudly my new Leica IIIG that is used with my Nickel Heliars.

My newly aquired Rollieflex 3.5F Whiteface is at Harry Fleenor's getting overhauled and a new Maxwell screen. My wait is about ten weeks. You guys withh all the nice toys caused a major gas attack, since the last time we met. Paybacks will be nasty.

I bought out the last fifty rolls of 220 Tri-X 320 at Adorama. Kinda found out via another thread that I just happened to buy the last three rolls at B&H. Tri-X 320 it seems is going to be discontinued BTW. You guys are responsible for making me hard-core.

May the GAS continue...

I'm sorry to report that I most likely won't be able to make the meet up this Saturday, as I'm having some folks over Saturday and probably won't be done with that until the afternoon.

Have a great time, though, and I'll look forward to (a) the photos and (b) the next meet up.

send your M9 anyway. I'm sure someone in the group will take good care of it.

Hi Guys,

I can't be there the next saturday and I never came to a Leica Meetup yet but I really would like to come, it seems to be a lot of fun. So let's think about the next next one, maybe soon in March ?
:)

Dang! Loreli is one of my favorite places in Manhattan!
I live in Philly but visit NYC very frequently. This coming saturday i'm working on a photo project with a hard deadline (I'll post here).
I hope I can make future meetings.
