fed 2 horizontal alignment

Picked up a cheap Fed 2 type b for spares or repair frm ebay and it arrived yesteday. In a bit if state , and a rather dirty I-26 lens (only bought as a spares source for another Fed 2, which has still yet to arrive). After fiddling with it for a while and with the assistance of Laiki's thread on overhaul and adjustment. I have now managed by some miracle to completely overhaul both the body and lens. I have also adjusted the vertical alignment at both infinity and one metre and this are both fine as is the vertical alignment on all distances in between, But , the only issue I now have is that the horizontal alignment is slightly out - literally one to two millimeters. But as this did not come with a take up spool and am waiting for the other to arrive, I don't know whether this is going to affect the photo's produced. Cn any one help?

You can adjust the horizontal alignment by unscrewing the ring around the front rangefinder window on the side closest to the takeup spool. You can then turn the ring which surronds the rangefinder lens (it has two slots in it) to adjust the horizontal alignment. When you finish, you may have to readjust infinity.

I had tried that earlier but wasn't getting much success as the outer ring is connected to the inner screw via a spring. So when I adjusted the ring the screw turned now and again also, so it was a matter of back and forth. However, I did try again and had a bit of success and just to bring it spot on I had to adjust the RF sensor head. Now its aligned all ways and at every distance.

Are you guys confusing horizontal and vertical adjustments? Vertical is the up-and-down alignment and is adjusted by rotating the RF window, which is actually a prism. Horizontal is adjusted by the position of the RF sensor tip and also by the screw behind the large one on the front, near the VF window. There is a sticky thread on how to adjust the RF.
