Hello,

I recently CLA'd a FED 2 but I am having problems with the 1/250 and 1/500 shutter speeds. Lower speeds and B seem to function okay. This is what happens:
When I cock the shutter the curtains move to the right (viewed from the back) as per normal (Photo 1). When I press the shutter button, the curtains move slightly to the left (so I can see the edges on the right side) and they remain there as long as I have the shutter pressed (photo 2). Once I release the shutter button, the curtains travel to the left - as far as I can tell - normally (photo 3). If the speed is set to 1/250 (photo 2) there is a gap between the curtains of about 5mm when they are held on the right side; when set to 1/500 there is no gap - the curtains touch each other.
There are also three photos showing what goes on at the top with the shutter and shutter speed dials: Photo 1a - cocked shutter; photo 2a - depressed shutter; photo 3a - released shutter.
Note: I am far from being very experienced in this area, but I have repaired and CLA'd a Zorki 4 and some other basic cameras.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

CLA for these cameras is complete disassembly with removal of shutter, taking out rollers springs, washing and re-lubing them. Taking out top plate and dropping oil where it is not needed is not CLA.
If I do CLA and something doesn't work, I'm finding it easier to remove shutter assembly again and re-install it. It helps to understand what went wrong during assembly.
From what I see and read - something went wrong at re-assembly.
This is in Russian how to put shutter back correctly.
