Anyone have a dial spring and washers under the film advance knob lying around? It's for my FED 2. I'm sure any dial spring from a knob styled film advace FSU camera would work.
I noticed my film counter dial was hard to move so I decided to lube the washers that were suppose to be there. To my surprise, I noticed I was missing those parts (dial spring and washers).

Thank you Kim for your troubles trying to find the parts.
So does anyone else have the parts I need?

What parts are you still chasing? Or didn't Kim have the "dial spring and washers under the film advance knob" you were after? I have some FED2 parts, I'll have a look when I get home from work.

Hi Laika. Unfortunately, Kim didn’t have the parts I was looking for. I still need the dial spring and washers under the film advance knob. Thank you for your time and troubles.

What type are you after?
The older type (top) with the spring attached to the winder knob (counter disc is recessed)
Or
The newer type (lower) with the different style spring (non recessed counter disc)

Doh!
I just noticed your last post has FED2b in the subject line ... I'll have a look what I have.

It's the older type (top) with the spring attached to the winder knob (counter disc is recessed). And you're right....it's for a FED 2b.
Does the FED 2b even have a separte dial spring? Thanks again.

If you're talking about the Fed 2b with a smaller wind knob [similar to a Fed-1], mine doesn't have the serrated washer. It has one thin flat spacer and a a "U" shaped wire with a wavy profile that is locked around the bottom collar of the knob. The early Fed 2b winding arrangement is very similar to the Fed 1g.
Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone for your help. I think you're right Joseph. I guess the FED 2b and a for that matter, never had the serrated washer. Kim told me he didn't find any from his early FED 2's either. Sorry for wasting eveyone's time.

Yes your FED2b shouldn't have a serrated spring/washer, as Joseph mentions it has a ..."U" shaped wire with a wavy profile that is locked around the bottom collar of the knob ... This can be seen in the photo I posted. The older models do have some small washers around the winder shaft but they are under the counter disk and the brass spacer, in a nut shell unless the counter disk is dragging on the top cover you don’t have anything missing. Does your winder knob have the spring attached as seen in the photo? If so you were on the right track to start with a touch of lube and adjust the winder knob so the counter disk is firm but movable before tightening up the lock screw.

Thanks for your pic's Laika. The gears in my head slowly started to turn after I saw them. When Kim told me he didn't have any I thought to myself, "That's odd". Then I saw your pic's and noticed you didn't have one either. That's when I started to think maybe it never had one. The gears finally made a full rotation after Josephs post. I guess you've all figured out I'm not the sharpest knife in the kitchen.
My winder knob does have the spring attached and the counter disk doesn't drag on the top cover. I was never missing any parts after all. I think it started after I was messing around with my FED 3a and immediately went to work on the FED 2b. Everything works fine now. Thanks again everyone.
