I just received a FED 2 from Ukraine. The RF, shutter and everything else works fine but the viewfinder is blurry (not foggy). It acts like there should be another lens in there. I took the rear viewer out but it looks fine. Any suggestions.
It's a shooter but I'll need bright light and a contrast subject or I'll have to guestimate range and composition. Bad, bad.
Thanks.

I hadn't touched a screw Leica for well over three decades when I got my IIIc two years back. Its finder drove me nuts and I only narrowly escaped amusing many and cursing myself.

Hi George,
The little lever just below the rewind knob is a diopter adjustment. Adjust it to your vision, and tape it down if need be! The Fed-2's window tends to be a bit dark, but the small, round focusing patch is quite good. I keep an external small, good quality viewer on the Fed-2 permanently. Once I have focused the R/F, my eye travels quite naturally and swiftly to the V/F.
Cheer, mike
