FED 2e baseplate removal?

I'm trying to remove the baseplate on a rusted FED 2e and can't figured out how to remove the locking tabs on this particular unit. I've encountered two versions which are both covered in the Maizenberg - one with a set screw and the older screw on cap. But on this 2e, it seems like the small cap and locking tab is one piece. Any info will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I've figured it out and it's actually simpler. I used a paper clip to push out the pin from the collapsible tabs to be able to pull it out and the whole assembly is off.
