Hi there,
I have two FED 5Cs and I after reading about using a CRT to adjust curtain tension I started messing around with that. The first camera, the one I was actually more dubious about since it had a stuck shutter when I got it, turned out to require only a little bit of adjustment to achieve nice, parallel travel.
However, the second one showed exposure times that seemed all over the place. Listening to the cocking sound, the impression I got was that the curtains were super taut so I released the tension on both shafts. When I tried to put the tension back on, the screw toward the back of the camera was just turning without catching hold of anything. No tension at all, the curtain is just slack.
Does anyone have an idea what happened in there? Opening the whole shutter box seems like a PITA so I thought I'd at least ask before attempting it.
Best regards,
Henry

one of the ribbons (or both) has probably come off the drum.
