Well after buying a Zorki C about 13 years ago and never being able to use it due to a scratched up fron element I picked up a FED3 the other week from the fleamarket for its clean lens. The camera turned out to be really smooth so I thought I would try a roll. Well the film jammed because the take up spool was too loose and would not take up the film properly. After unjamming the camera I fixed the takeup spool and got it working. Took the kids to the park and took the FED3 along to see how it would work.
Here are some shots of the day.
Well I am more than pleased with the lens and the way the camera handles.
There are some pinholes in the shutter. I have patched them with nail varnish but I will replace the shutter at some point.
I went back to the fleamarket to see what else was there and I picked up a FED2 with a industar 61 and good shutter curtains and a really nice Zorki 1 with a collapsible industar 22. There is a small mark on the edge of the I-22 but images are sharp and it does not show in the pics. The FED2 needed cleaning and adjusting I have done that but still have to run a roll. The shutter seams fine after being left in the freazer for 20min doesn't stall anymore so I hope to run a test roll tommarrow.
