I bought a Fed 3B a few days ago cheap off of ebay, mainly due to the fact that I wanted a M39 mount camera that takes interesting pictures. I received it and for some reason the curtains were not connected. After carefully playing with the curtains for a while, they snapped back together, and everything on the camera worked fine. All the speeds were correct, the only thing that did not quite work was that the self timer wouldn't activate without assistance: that didn't bother, I wasn't planning on using it. Then just yesterday, the wind lever became very hard to turn. So, I stopped and figured that I should put some graphite on the cogs to make it easy. As I was slowly winding it, something suddenly broke free, and now the wind lever turns freely. I can't advance the frames at all. Anyone know how to take off the top cover? I found a picture of what it looks like with all the parts separated, but there is no instructions on how to do it.
