I think you are getting some wonderful shots, but you need to edit more (don't wel all). Are you tall? You seem to tower over your subjects which makes them feel like they are specimens to a degree.

I like your ideas for composition, I can clearly see what you are aiming for. Try posting your contact sheets, its' easier and I believe better to look at contacts than the photographers picks.

Where are these being taken by the way, it is a great idea for a project.

My main thought is that you should take the shots, upload or process the film, but then leave them for 3 months before trying to see what's good. I'm trying to do that.

But keep it up, I think you have a strong project here. 🙂

I'm 6' 1", but these angles you refer to are taken whilst standing on the concrete slabs you can see in some shots. I guess I'm just trying to experiment with different angles instead of the usual same level.
Perhaps holding off on reviewing and selecting images is a good idea. I should try this.
The photos are taken in Dublin, Ireland in a famous and historic area called the Forty Foot.

I'm sorry but I don't understand the point in placing images in the critiquing forum with an agenda to defending them and pointing out what you like about a particular image when someone else says they don't see merit in it. You've gone to some trouble with several examples to explain why they work for you which is fine but if you ever have an exhibition are you going to spend as much time educating gallery patrons on why they should like your work if they seem less than impressed?

That said my favourrite is the woman with the wind blown hair.

I am wholly accepting of criticism when it is inteligible and sensible, and I very much enjoy engaging in discussion and debate in regards to it, but Thomas's remarks were, imo, quite acerbic. I found his views to be ill informed and they had a feel of someone who didn't know what they were talking about. So, of course i am going to explain my reasoning and thinking behind my images. He immediately then went on the offensive when I tried to explain my rationale.
I didn't get annoyed when I received feedback from farlymac & _lacky for instance, because they made sense and were respectful towards my work. There was no need for the nastiness toward me from Thomas.
