film advance level of the RD1

i have a question about the film advance lever

i managed to try out one
i found that the action of the lever only goes out partially as compared to the bessa R, R2A and R3A cameras (where the you can push the lever all the way out 180degrees from its original position)

i thought that rd1 was built of the bessa chassis
any reason why so?

The R-D1's advance lever only has to cock the shutter. In the film Bessas, it (obviously) has to advance the film, too.
