Hi!

Today I encountered a problem with my newly acquired M6 from 1988

I had a roll of vista 400 with 24+3 shots in it, everything worked perfectly, up until shot 15...

then the film (or rather the roll of film?) jammed! the advance lever works, and the crawls move too, but the film seemed jammed?

it happened once already, with the same brand of film (vista 400)

did someone experience something like this already? is this common with cheap films?? especially if its something like 24+3 shots?

or does my m6 have a problem?

thanks for any information!

regards from vienna, xax

it happened again...

could this be because occasionally, i am carrying the m6 around with the shutter cocked?

thanks for any help

My M3 was giving various problems including advancing problems; I had Sherry Krauter clean and lube it and now it is wonderful and nifty. She also cleared up my light leak.

Sounds like the infamous rewind washer corrosion issue. If it is, it's a very easy DIY fix. I think the instructions are here in the archives - I'll look, too.

hi!

thanks a lot for the information!

i now removed the small screw on the side of the rewind lever, but cant get it off, do i need to remove the big one as well?

thanks

uh oh

i removed the wheel which grips into the film canister... and now the rewind lever is not smooth anymore, very stiff...

damn!! what happened? 🙁
