Hello all,
Been lurking the forums for a little while, reading and trying to learn as much as I could about RF's.
Lets just say digital got me interessted in trying film again. And Leica has always been a little dream of mine.
So, I bought a newly CLA'ed Leica CL off the bay a month ago and was running my first film the other day when I encountered a problem.
The film advancer is stuck. After 16 shots of film it suddenly stopped working.
I tried changeing film, but this didnt help, so atm, I'm at a loss.
Maybe I'm just missing something very basic, or this might be a common issue..............Searching the net didnt really come up with any answers.
Camera was not being harassed in any way and was in my photobag between shots.
So, asking here seems the only plausible solution.
Any comments appreciated, remember, you're talking with someone who is running their first film through an RF ever
Kind regards,
Christer

Its the lever stuck out or closed? Sometimes with CL's I have noticed they stick when you are winding to the next frame and you have to apply pressure to the lever upwards as you wind on with your thumb. A recently serviced one shouldn't need this though.

Thanks for takeing your time
The lever is stuck closed. Tried what you suggested by pressing the lever upwards while winding, but unfortunatly it didnt work.

I would probably take your first film out at this point just to see of that may release things. Check also the position of the meter arm which sometimes comes adrift and can jam the winding mechanism as well. Its just a matter of fiddling a bit or off to the repairman it goes.

I tried changeing film. It worked for two more shots, then it got stuck again........
The meter arm looks good and moves as it should.
And, no amount of fiddling helps either.
What bugs me is that this is supposedly newly serviced.
