I've been on the lookout for a smaller Phototherm unit, but they just don't seem to be around. So, will be looking for a Jobo CPP2. I was looking on the B&H site and noted that the Jobo plastic reels looked just like the Omega, only were much more expensive. Are there other less expensive, or easier to load reels available for the Jobo 1500 tank series? Also, if there is a hidden, in the know, site that sells Phototherm at an affordable price, please let me know. Ebay seems to be a bit of a Phototherm desert.

It's really way better than any Jobo, the only jobo that would come close would be the ATL 1000/1500 and those are almost double what the phototherms sell for. I saw two phototherm sidekicks close not too long ago, a month or two ago or so, for around $500-600 I think. Ebay is where I found mine, they do show up from time to time. Sometimes surplus equipment places sell them too.
The phototherm uses normal patterson reels (easy to find and cheap) and seems built with fairly standard parts so DIY repairs could be doable if need be (plus Phototherm is still active and in business).

Ed:
I've always been a bit confused about the operation of Phototherm with C41 Tetenal (Blix) development. Can one mimic small tank hand development where I use 1liter for 15 35mm C-41 rolls, but keep increasing development time as developer is used up? The manual talks about one shot processing.. which would be expensive..I think
