Noticed in an Ebay listing the seller pointed out the "decorative" ring around the film rewind knob was missing from his camera. Looks like it's missing on mine, too. Any idea where one could find odd parts like this?
Thanks,
Tom

Look on ebay for a similar camera being sold as a parts camera, that still has the "decorative" ring. I am not sure what you are referring to. Does your camera still function properly? I would be interested in seeing a photo of what you are talking about.
If you have a camera store near you it is possible they will have a parts camera or parts bin, but that isn't what you usually find in them.

The metal ring that surrounds the rewind knob, when attached, looks like its an integral part of the baseplate but it in fact is separate and does unscrew. (See photo) Regrettably parts cameras still fetch quite high prices, too much to spend just to get just the ring. It may pay to ring a few Leica repairers who often attempt to repair CLE's and fail, they may have the odd parts camera which will allow you to purchase just the ring.

In the interest of PM, I just took out my "new" CLE and removed the ring with a rubber strap, put a little loctite on it and screwed it back on. Better safe than sorry....
Thanks,
