Hello Everyone,

I have the chance for a week vacation in Las Vegas, and I'm wondering what film to take, both B&W and color. For the color film, my intention is to scan it, so I'm guessing slide film is better. I'm not sure Velvia would be appropriate (too saturated ?). I'll most be simply walking around the city, photographing, but also plan on a trip out to Red Rock Canyon and possibly Hoover dam.

For the B&W, I have access to APX100, so that'll probably be it (but please do suggest alternatives). Any suggestions for slide ?

Also, has anyone ever dealt with Adventure Photo Tours in L.V. ?

Many thanks !
Steven

I've shot quite a bit in Las Vegas, both day and night.

For daytime, your favorite color film will work fine, I'm sure. I've shot the various Fuji negative, the Walgreens/Agfa 200, Kodak Gold 200, and even some Kodachrome.

For nighttime, you probably will not want to try slides. I've had the best luck with Fuji 400/800/1600 color negative film. The 800 Kodak Max tends to be gritty, and the Walgreens/Agfa is just totally 144!

I have a number of LV shots in my gallery. PM me for a link to a very large collection if you want.

Hello!
I had the chance to spend few days in Las Vegas last May 2005, when I attended to the AMHA Show (I lived at the Circus Circus Hotel): my first time there, for me as Italian it semmed to live in a giant fun park!
I used my Ricoh KR10X loaded with an Agfa CT precisa 100 ASA slide film, day and night: I can confirm I got wonderful results with gorgeous colours. I would suggest you a slide film in Las Vegas, because no print can give the same: but this is just my opinion, based on my experience.
Enjoy your stay!
