I know that the issue had been discussed. At least I have a 1000 pages of search results.

I miss the small cute things in my M7 - "film-type reminder the box-end holder on the back"

My memory is playing a sad joke - I do not remember what is the film in camera now :)

Could you share your experience keeping information about the film placed in the camera

I don't know if I love the chain, but otherwise those seem really nice.

I shorten the chain considerably so it doesn't dangle from the strap and crimp down on both ends with pliers on the "latch" as I have lost one by it inadvertently opening up.

When you turn the M7 on, the ISO shows in the viewfinder. That doesn't really help if you can't remember if you have B&W, Neg or Chrome film, but it would generally give one enough of a clue as to which film is in there.

My M2 is in a case. The end of the film box goes on the bottom of the case.
I use very few types of film and keep the box ends so if I buy a brick I'll have one.
My other cameras have a window.

Cheap tan masking tape on top of the camera and a regular Sharpie so I can read it without my reading glasses. If I have a finder on the camera I put the tape along the top of the camera and over the finder. Losing a finder gets expensive, even the VC finders. I cary an extra pair of reading glasses in my bag. You can easily wind 20 inches (half a meter) or so of the tape around the Sharpie so you always have some handy.Lacking tapew handy I'll fold up a piece of film box or other thin cardboard in the shoe, mark film type and E.I. used with the sharpie.

The advantage of using masking tape is you can put it on the cassette when you unload.

what case do you use for M2?

I'm using a Zhou Case. They are around $60 and I really like it.
