Ran my first roll in my Zarya...
Loaded the leader currectly (winds C-Clock-wise)
Ran off a few shots, and at around the 5/6 shoot, the film winding acted like it was stuck...so I gave it a little more turning pressure, and I felt it give way...(not a good sign, or habbit)
I tried to rewind the film, to no availl
I found out later at home, it was torn from the film canister core...:bang: after I trouble shoot other things
After opening the back, the film had dislodged from the tight spring bar on the advance spool, and wound around the sproket spool that moves the film though the film gate as it is advanced..(I did check to make sure the film was advancing properly and I did tighten the a little after I closed the back)..
Could it be I dislodged the leader at that point???? I didn't I was heavy handed
I have should plenty of film with cameras with manual rewind knobs or cranks. So I thought I wasn't turning the rewind knob too much. Just to get out any slack.
Any other explainations than my running dialog that probubly answered my question

I should mention that I wound off 2 blanks before I took any slack out..And, the rewind moved correctly while I did this....

With those Fed take-up spools you really need to push the film leader all the way in, then pull it back just a little and make sure that one of the sprocket holes is caught on that forwards pointing spike, and keep a little tension on the film until you've wound a little.

It might be that the spool is not a tight fit on the shaft, or the transport shaft doesn't slip enough.

All of the above.
I usually wait until I have a complete wrap of film around the spool before I close the backs. What's the loss of one more frame? Actually, I advance the film one 'wrap' before I pull the cassette back* to the rewind side. Then I check that the film is on the sprocket, take up the slack and close the back.
*Except on the Barnacks, Zorki 1 & Fed 1

I bought a short roll of 24x today and observed what was happening...
The Take spool was not "tight enough" on the take up winding Barrel. I saw it had 3 adjustible peddels, so I pulled one out just a bit and refit the Take Up spool on it to make sure it was tight enough...It was..And the film wound correctly and the take up spool is snug now.
Thanks...I believe I will have no need for a Fedka CLA yet...Every thing else runs fairly smooth...Has that famous Leica "Twack" sound too, a bit louder though, not by much...

Yes, I did this too, once I knew all was OK....Good Practice to use on future films.
