Films that work well in Perceptol?

Can anyone share their experiences with films that work well, or not so well, in Perceptol developer, please?

I've had a packet of Perceptol lurking for (quite) a while now, bought on a recommendation here for a roll of film I'd exposed at the wrong speed. It's a litre packet, and I only need enough for one roll of 35mm, so I've offered a friend the use of the remainder, and he's interested in which films it complements and which not. I think he'd rather like to try some films out specifically to use it on rather than try it on what he's got lurking. What say you?

I tend to use it on slower films like Pan F at EI 25 or even FP4 at EI64 it works well for both those emulsions and as you already know reduces the film speed.
That's not to say you can't use it on faster films like HP5 and indeed it will give about the smoothest look that film is capable of at EI200.
It seems to give about the finest grain and smoothest tones at the expense of some edge sharpness compared to say D76/ID11.
At least that has been my experience.

Long time since I used any but I recall great results with FP4+ . At the time I found ID:11 more useful though simply for the extra speed. You have me thinking now about trying Perceptol again.

I have just processed my first few rolls (in many years) looking for the best combinations of film/developer, and I really like the result I got from Fuji Neopan Acros 100 in perceptol stock 12 mins. Really just starting out in this, with many more to try.
