The bag is oily, It feels almost wet, I rubbed a uv filter on it and noticed a slight smudge, Since the bag came with a tin of oil finish I assume with will fade over time so Ill just deal with it, Maybe just oil the top of the outer flap.
Shane - thanks for answering my insert question. I have a few things from Domke kicking around that will probably work. As an alternative, I might get Eric at CourierWare to customize one of his camera inserts for it, but kind of want to avoid putting anything too padded and rigid in it.
I will probably use it to carry a smaller customized CourierWare bag carrying my M kit along with other odds and ends while traveling. On its own, it'll be bigger than I'd want for just going out with my M kit. But it looks nice and I couldn't resist at that price.
🙂 I'm sure I can find a use for it!
Another question - the interior is lined with a different material, right? That's how it looks in their product photos and I think is what I read, too..
I ended up playing it conservatively with black, but the Otter Green also looks nice. Which color did you get?
In a UTube video about this bag, the vendor who made the video indicated the bag ships with a package of the wax. Was it included with yours?
Regarding the design of the strap and similarity to the BBB bag... this is something I also noticed, though when I'm out shooting I often like to flip the flap back behind the bag and keep the top open. It doesn't appear to be a doable thing with this one, but isn't a deal breaker.
As for the Nylon buckles - I suspect since this bag is intended for use in wet conditions, it will endure such weather better over the long run than leather details/trim. I find it also looks a bit more casual this way and not 'trendy' the way the regular style, or a Billingham, does. Thus, slightly more discreet.
