Hi all
OK, I give in. I con't understand Leica's naming system at all.
I'mmtrying to work out what size/fit filter I should get for my Zorki 1's collapsible 50/3.5 elmar-a-like. And, for that matter, what type of lens hood. I assume it's actually easiest to buy genuine (used) leitz, just because there's so much of it about - they seem reasonably cheap on eBay.
How do the filter and hood fit? I assume the filter pushes on, and the hood somehow connects to the filter?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie

36mm push-on filter. Just like the real Elmar. I only have the Leitz filter, but not the hood. I've yet to see the hood come up for sale on Ebay. I'll likely be making my own from a plastic bottle.

Heres my solution, take a standard push on FSU filter and knock the glass out of it. Now it will press fit into the back of a 40.5 filter, although some are a little looser and need a drop of epoxy.Remove the glass from the 40.5 and now you have a neat filter adaptor. This works great as on a shoot you only need one size filter if you take the collapsible and say a J-8 along...........

Filters on old collapsible FSU lenses seems to be a common problem: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&threadid=8047

So an 'A36' filter is the one to go for, then, and DIY the lens hoods.
Thanks, all!

I inquired a couple of weeks ago, the A36 hood is no longer available
