I own a Zeiss Super Ikonta B with X-sync; it has the coated Opton-Tessar lens. I really would like to fit a filter and shade to this thing, but am baffled by the size.
Camera-specific Zeiss literature, found on the web, lists filters as 37mm, but there are no 37mm threads to be found on the camera. There are not enough threads in the lens mount barrel to screw in a filter, either. I figured that since they listed it with a mm designation that it would be a thread, but it doesn't look like it.
One other listing lists the Proxars as what is now an old-fashioned slip-over type mount. I measured the ring over which the Proxars might fit, with a U.S. standard dial caliper and it is, sure enuff, about 37mm. The ring is 1.456-7" and 37mm is 1.4566".
Where does one get a slip-on filter or slip-on adapter-to-whatever type mount these days?
Help is appreciated.

I have found a hood for my Super Ikonta B. It was made by Zeiss and fits perfectly.....but; A good breeze will pick the thing right off the lens.I own a Zeiss Super Ikonta B with X-sync; it has the coated Opton-Tessar lens. There is no good lens hood set up for this camera as you will no doubt find out and you need one. I haven't even tried to find a filter.
Here is a good source of hoods so I suggest you look at this guy's stuff. He will likely have it. If you email him he has good advice as well. Very knowledgeable.

My Super Ikonta has its original Zeiss filters, yellow and orange. Both are marked as 37mm. And both are "push-on" type, they do not screw.
It's the only 6x6 folder I have capable of keeping its filter when closed. Very clever...

I use a Zeiss 37mm push-on filter and a series VI hood with a 38mm adapter. I had to bend the prongs on the adapter a bit to make it fit well on the filter. Of course, given that I am using a Series VI hood, I could just as easily have slipped series VI filter into the stack.

Well, thanks everybody. Sounds like what I didn't want to be the answer is the answer. I'll check around to those mentioned sources.

You can find 37mm so shades and filters at Manfred Schmidt's. Look towards the bottom of the page.
