I got a J.C. Penny 135mm f/2.8 in the mail today. I wanted to try it with an AF confirmation adapter on my Canon 10D. I tried putting it on with the adapter already mounted on the camera. It wouldn't turn all the way to where it is suppose to lock. I took it off and looked at the camera and inside the mirror box was the black ring that goes in side the lens mount. The one with the grooves for the tabs that engage the aperture diaphragm.

I put the piece back in the lens and tried mounting it on the adapter but not on the camera. It would not work again. The lens has an OM mount, so I tried it on my OM-1 and it fits fine. In the process of playing with it, I discovered the aperture is stuck wide open. I can press the dof preview button and the tab moves, but the diaphragm doesn't close. :bang:
