After reading all the threads here regarding changing the light seals and battery replacement ideas, I have finally revived my GSN and it's functioning beautifully. Let me just share with you what I did using common household materials.

1. Light seals - a good rubber to use is the mouse pad. Just cut it to fit the slots.
No need to use glue.

2. Battery - 4LR44 6v. battery. Used small 5 cents coins as spacers.

Thank you all. Now I'm ready to shoot for my contest entries.

Congrats!
My battery solution was a PX28A inside of a bit of vinyl tube with a spring to make up the length.
I've still got to change the seals, but I fear my light leaks will persist since my door does not close tightly. In the mean time, I tape around the door with aluminum duct tape. (It doesn't look as bad as it sounds).

I'm finally getting my GS up and running. Just got a vivitar 252 flash which works beautifully. I think the only thing left is the light seals.
