Is that possible with Shutter Speed Dial? Let's say I use a hand-held light meter, and would like to enter a shutter speed in a finer interval than printed on Shutter Speed Dial. Is it possible at all?

In a word: no. The ZI will only use shutter speeds between those on the dial when it's in the AE mode. According to the manual it has 1/12 f-stop resolution from 8 to 1/2000 in AE mode and 1-stop increments in manual mode and B from 1 to 1/2000.

zm lenses have 1/3 stop, m lenses have 1/2 stop, use the lens stop instead. unless you are doing technical comparison, you won't tell the different dof of half stop.

the meter is more a guideline anyway. my meter has 1/10 stop, can't do that on any of my cameras-:
