Hi all,

I bought a QL17 GIII that has a lot of problems. I was able to fix all problems but I’d like to make sure the exposure is ok. I made Adjustable Light Source and Combination shutter speed/curtain speed tester. I’m waiting to get all components to make an EV tester. I’d like to know how I can test the auto and manual exposures.

The outer lens has a small finger print on the glass. I tried to clean it with Ronsonol, Lens cleaner and Alcohol isopropylique but the mark doesn’t come off. Is there any chemical that I can use to take the finger print off?

Sorry for so many questions but I have learned so much in this forum.

Thanks All

Any of those agents would have removed an ordinary finger print, which is made up of skin oils. If the mark has etched into the glass, you will not be able to remove it.

When you have the camera working correctly, you can test this. The mark may not have any significant effect on the results.

"Exposures testes" ?
You can get arrested for this in our town.

Sorry, just had to laugh ~ ; - )
Best of luck on cleaning the QL.

I'm glad that you fielded that one and not me. I had been staring at it for the past hour and thought "Nah, won't go there." 🙂

To bad the thread title doesn't update sometimes when you try to correct it.
