Fingerprints and Families of Lenses

So, I'm interested in "seriously" trying some work with a 35mm lens. Before picking one, I got to thinking about the fingerprints of lenses.

The Summilux has been reincarnated over the years and so, the fingerprint has changed over the years. Now I'm using the Summilux 50mm 1.4 ASPH, does the 35mm 1.4 ASPH have a similar fingerprint?

It seems logical to guess that the new Summarits would all share a similar fingerprint, because they have all been made with the same technology/time.

I have a thread on Leica rangefinder lenses on a Chinese photography forum.

In that thread, I had posted the test results of eight 35mm Leica rangefinder lenses that I owned. The test result includes 1:1 magnification aperture tests at center and corner (of M8) of each lens for the fingerprints with similar pictures taken at maximum, minimum and optimal aperture. Some other pictures illustrating performance at other situation are also included.

Although I had written in Chinese, I think it might be helpful if you wish to understand fingerprints. The thread link as follows:

Patrick, great test site. Even without chinese it gives a good idea of performance. I also like the Hong Kong settings. I kept recognizing places!

By the way, Hong Kong was the first place I used my M8. It's a great place to take pictures, especially at night!!!
