Roland's site has the 611xxx batch listed as 1948, is this correct? Or is it 1946?

It is possible that the 611 series was designed in 1946 and some production may have started that early. Since the 904 series did not arrive till about Dec of 49 there would have been no teles for the first Ones coming off the line in March 1948 so the 611 series may be there and for sale.

611232 is on kevin cameras site. LTM

SCAP records indicate that the first 135/4 Nikkors made it through production the first of November 1948. These were almost certainly in the 611 series. Serial numbers indicated design completion and had little or nothing to do with actual production. This chart is a good summary of the 135/4 production.

I guess NK could’ve made some after design completion but didn’t report to SCAP till the camera was out. It’s interesting that there are LTM examples in the first batch, 611232 is way past the 611185 number listed above.

Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers. The office of General MacArthur and the its administration. These occupation offices kept records of every aspect of Japan including industrial production.
